binky advice.

Lately I have been thinking about weaning my daughter from her most beloved "mi-mi".  Was your little one attached to their binky?  How did you get rid of it?  When did you get rid of it?

Please, do tell.

our friends tied their sons binky to a balloon and let him release it. They talked about how the balloon was goingt o carry the binky to another family who needed it...

IT still took a couple of bad days to totally get over it, but he really liked the idea of releasing the balloon when he was ready.

I've never had a child who likes them, but when I worked at a day care, a lot of parents would wean their children (ages 12-24 months) down by only allowing them to have it while they were in bed. They could even have it in the middle of the day so long as they were in bed. Eventually the children would lose more and more interest. I saw it work with a couple different kids.

Cold turkey is probably better, but if that's too much for you maybe this idea would work.
